Organic Food in Pattaya: Wooden Box
Organic Food in Pattaya: Wooden Box 29. June 2018
From farm to table, locally grown goodness…

Food nourishes not just the body but the soul. If we feed well, we live well. That ethos is well-reflected in one of Pattaya’s trendiest organic restaurants, Wooden Box. Set up in February 2016 by 31-year-old Bangkok native Worravit Thavornsuwanchai along with his two partners from Pattaya, the well-designed restaurant specialises in salads made up of fresh hydroponic greens.

WoodenBox-Pattaya Organic foodThe menu proudly says, “You choose, we cook”, referring to a DIY-style array of vegetables and accompaniments that diners can choose from. We opted for a colourful medley of Japanese pumpkin, beetroot, rocket, sunflower sprout, butterhead lettuce, taro, and raw salmon, served alongside a pumpkin soy milk dressing. The vegetables are as fresh as they get, most of them grown in Wooden Box’s very own garden. According to Worravit, such a restaurant concept is still relatively new in Pattaya.

By the looks of the lunch crowd that turned up that day, the health food movement is well and alive in sunny Pattaya.
