Loy Krathong Festival

13 November 2019
Loy Krathong is a significant festival occurring every year in Thailand; it is celebrated on the evening of the full moon of the 12th month of traditional Thai lunar calendar. On this night, the residents go to the closest river, lake, beach or even swimming pool to release a floating offering, hoping for good luck in the year to come.

Loy Krathong is meant to thank and apologize the water goddess for making the water dirty, as well as for good luck. As a token of gratefulness and apologies, a small decorated round raft usually made of slices of banana tree trunk or bread, decorated with flowers, nicely folded banana leaves, a candle and three incense sticks on top.

Penang Bridge International Marathon

Held at the Penang Bridge for the ninth year, the Penang Bridge International Marathon is one of the biggest events listed in the Malaysia Book of Records. This running event has attracts serious runners from different parts of the world to run across the iconic bridge that connects the island to the mainland while enjoying the sunrise.

Pattaya International Fireworks Festival 2019

29-30 November 2019

This fireworks contest takes place in Pattaya. It is held on 2 days and brings together several national teams that offer a show in order to be named best nation. This is a unique opportunity to see beautiful fireworks over the bay of Pattaya and it is free.
