The eco-luxury resort underwent a year-long renovation in 2019. All 45 of its spectacular overwater villas have been refurbished to let guests experience even more of the Gili magic. Keeping to the resort’s green ethos, sustainable materials were used as much as possible, including recycled wood gathered from the region.

Respect and care for the environment remain the focus of the refreshed Gili Lankanfushi. The design is inspired by elements of nature, from the beautiful sea life down in the tropical waters, to the mesmerising stars up in the clear Maldivian skies. Special attention has also been given to traditional yet innovative craftsmanship.

The new layout of the villas lets guests enjoy an even deeper connection with nature. Sprawling daybeds look out to the pristine waters. In the new bathrooms, a free-standing bathtub lets couples relax to the soothing sounds of gentle waves and the view of the endless Indian Ocean.

The expanse of the villas is only surpassed by the surrounding seas. There are also spacious residences or the new 2-bedroom villas that are ideal for families.

The setting is perfect for lounging, soaking in nature’s beauty, or simply forgetting about time.

While the appearance of Gili Lankanfushi has been renewed, its heart remains the same. Gili magic is about serving a genuine guest experience bar none, while at the same time showing the utmost respect and sensitivity towards the environment.
