Singapore Night Festival 2017
18- 26 August 2017, Bugis- Bra Basah
The 10th edition of Singapore’s largest outdoor performing arts festival will once again dazzle audiences across Bras Basah and Bugis. This year, the Festival kicks off on 18 August with the annual Night Lights, its enthralling showcase of light art installations.
Interesting events include Journey of Time, a blend of flamenco and kathak dance, and Peranakan Sayang’s renditions of contemporised Peranakan songs.

29th SEA Games Kuala Lumpur 2017

Kuala Lumpur 2017 (KL2017) is the brand name of the 29th Southeast Asian Games and the 9th ASEAN Para Games. After 16 years, Malaysia is once again hosting the SEA Games. The 29th chapter of the SEA Games will be a landmark occasion and a source of pride to all Malaysians.

Citizens of Malaysia celebrate their country’s independence. During this whole month of August, also known as the Merdeka month, you will see most Malaysians express their patriotism and love towards their culturally unique country by raising the Malaysian flag on their vehicles, balcony of their homes and even along the streets. The Melaka Sea Carnival is held on the same day at Klebang Besar Beach. Festivities here are centred on boating and windsurfing competitions.
